Board Members and Members Present:    
Scott Perry, Sue Wilson, Marijke Dollois, Pat Farmer, Parma Jewett, Sally Newton, Joanne Bennett

Scott Perry called the Meeting to order at 5:35 PM.

Scott presented the Covered Bridges Brochure reprinted, free of charge, by Phil Jewett. They are now available at Lutz’s. Scott will send him a thank-you note.
 
Recognition of visitors: None

1.    Minutes of 11/08/07 and 01/17/08: Sue made a Motion, seconded by Sally to approve the Minutes of 11/08/07 and 01/17/08 as written. The Motion was unanimously approved.

2.    Treasurer’s Report:
Pat made a Motion, seconded by Marijke to approve the Treasurer’s Report of 11/08/07. The Motion was unanimously approved.
Pat made a Motion, seconded by Marijke to approve the Treasurer’s Report of 01/17/08. The Motion was unanimously approved.
Pat made a Motion, seconded by Marijke to approve the Treasurer’s Report of 02/20/08. The Motion was unanimously approved.

3.    Membership Update:
Marijke reported that the first membership for 2008 was received - $10.00.

4.    Old Business –

A.    Ongoing Projects/Events:

    Speakers – Charles Henderson has applied for 2 grants for two speakers events:
            September – Abenaki’s of Vermont
            TBA          – Mark Twain

B.    Elder’s Night – Sally and/or Joanne will contact Agatha Blodgett, Pearl Tryhorne and Carol Clokey.
    Joanne has the script of the interview with Hazel Clokey.

C.    Pratt Hall – no further report.

D.    Concerts – no further report.

E.    Insurance – no further report.

F.    History Expo update: Theme - “Carry the Weight, Save Freight” – Atlas Plywood motto. Booth C-47 has been assigned. Setting-up will start Friday, June 20th; the exhibit will run Saturday/Sunday June 21-22. Scott will arrange for 11x17 reprints of photographs/text of the Atlas Plywood booklet. An article should be prepared for the County Courier announcing the MHS participation and information on the History Expo and requesting loans of photographs, butter tubs and other pertinent items for the exhibit.
 
G.    Recording equipment – no further report.

H.    Memorial Day Commemoration – May 26th at 10:00 AM. at lower Montgomery Center Cemetery. A speaker has not been designated yet.
   
I.    Annual Meeting – Friday, June 27th at 6:00 PM – no further report.

5.    New Business:

A.    AASLH Awards:
    Scott was approached at the Montpelier awards to present the MHS for AASLH awards. Scott looked into the preparation which is a very detailed process and very time-consuming. It was decided not to proceed with the presentation.

B.    Spring clean-up:

    Saturday, May 3rd at 9:00 AM - regrading northside (towards Heaton House) for better drainage, general outside cleaning and cleaning of Heaton House for preparation of storage of MHS items.
